Technical Description

The Mazak QUICK TURN SMART 250 is a 2-axis CNC turning center from Mazak's QUICK TURN SMART series. This row is the 1000U bed version, nominally 40 in, which gives a maximum machining length of 40.36 in (1,025 mm). Maximum swing is 26.0 in (660 mm) and maximum machining diameter is 15.0 in (380 mm). Bar work capacity is 3.0 in (80 mm). The main spindle carries a 10 in chuck, runs to 4,000 rpm and is rated 35 hp (26 kW) at its 30-minute rating. The upper turret holds 12 tools. Axis travels on the 1000U bed are 8.25 in X and 43.38 in Z. The same model was also built on a 500U bed with a 19.86 in machining length and 22.0 in of Z travel; swing, machining diameter, chuck size, spindle speed and motor rating stay the same on both beds. A milling version, the QUICK TURN SMART 250M, adds rotary tools to the turret so milling can be done in the same setup as turning.
