Technical Description
The Mazak Quick Turn Smart 350 (QTS350) is a two-axis slant-bed CNC turning center from Yamazaki Mazak's Quick Turn Smart series, introduced around 2010 as a value-oriented line alongside the Quick Turn Nexus machines. The 50 in designation refers to the long (1250U) bed, which extends the machining length for long shaft work. The single spindle carries a 12 in chuck with a 4 in bar capacity, runs to 3,300 rpm and is driven by a motor rated 40 hp (30 kW). Maximum machining diameter is 16.54 in. A 12-station turret holds OD and ID tooling. The machine is controlled by the Mazatrol Smart CNC, a conversational control with a color LCD that also accepts EIA/ISO G-code programs. Standard and common equipment includes a CNC programmable tailstock, through-hole chuck package, automatic tool eye and chip conveyor, and the machine can be integrated with bar feeders and gantry loaders for unattended operation. The same platform was offered as the Quick Turn Smart 350M with rotary milling tools and C-axis.
