Technical Description
The Mori Seiki NL2000Y is a CNC turning center from the NL series with milling and a Y-axis on the turret. It has an 8-inch chuck on a JIS A2-6 spindle nose, a 73 mm (2.9 in) spindle bore and 65 mm (2.5 in) bar capacity. The spindle turns up to 5,000 rpm, driven by a 15 kW (20 hp) motor at 50% ED, with an 18.5 kW high-output motor optional. The 12-station BMT (built-in motor turret) holds 25 mm square shanks and up to 50 mm boring bars; rotary tools run to 6,000 rpm on a 5.5 kW motor. Swing over bed is 923.8 mm (36.4 in) and over the cross slide 755 mm (29.7 in). Maximum turning diameter is 356 mm (14.0 in) and maximum turning length 510 mm (20.0 in), with 500 mm between centers. Travels are X 260 mm, Z 590 mm and Y 100 mm (±50 mm). Rapid traverse is 30 m/min on X and Z and 10 m/min on Y; the C-axis indexes in 0.001 degree steps. A tailstock with MT4 live center is standard. The machine occupies 2,695 x 1,922 mm, stands 2,120 mm high and weighs 5,700 kg.
