Technical Description
The Mori Seiki NTX2000/1500SZ is a high-precision integrated mill-turn center in the X-class range, launched January 2011 for aerospace, medical-equipment and semiconductor parts, combining a second (lower) turret with turning-only capability and a second (sub) spindle. It handles a maximum workpiece size of 660 mm (25.9 in) diameter by 1,540 mm (60.6 in) length, with the tool spindle reaching the full 660 mm at B-axis 90 degrees (610 mm standard); Turret 2 turns up to 270 mm diameter with 10 tool stations. Distance between centers is 1,500 mm. Spindle 1 and Spindle 2 share identical specifications and both reach 5,000 min-1. The tool spindle carries a built-in motor rated 18.5/11 kW, equivalent to a No. 40-taper machining-center spindle, reaching 12,000 min-1 with 1.25-second tool-to-tool change from a 38-tool magazine (76-tool optional), BT40 shank standard (Capto C6 or HSK-A63 optional). Tool spindle travels are X 495 mm, Y 250 mm and Z 1,560 mm at 40 m/min rapids. The machine uses Mori Seiki's DDM, ORC and BMT technologies, three-point bed support and the MAPPS IV operating system with ESPRIT CAM and standard 3D interference checking. Overall machine size is 4,076 x 2,980 x 2,626 mm.
