The Nakamura-Tome TW-20MM is a high-performance horizontal machining center featuring twin main spindles, each capable of a maximum turning diameter of 10.63 inches and turning length of 7.56 inches. Both spindles are powered by 20 HP motors and operate at speeds up to 5,000 RPM, with an 8-inch chuck diameter and a maximum bar diameter capacity of 2 inches. The machine includes dual turrets (left and right), each accommodating up to 24 turning tools and 12 rotary tools, which enables simultaneous use of two cutting tools for enhanced machining efficiency. Equipped with a 6-axis configuration, the TW-20MM offers versatile machining capabilities including standard secondary mill/drill functions on-center and with C-axis, with optional off-center mill/drill and Y-axis functionalities. The X-axis travel is 7.68 inches with a rapid traverse feed rate of 630 inches per minute, matching the Y and Z axes rapid traverse speeds. The Z-axis travel extends to 30.7 inches, allowing machining of longer workpieces. Rotary tools feature 5 HP motors with a maximum spindle speed of 3,600 RPM, supporting complex milling operations.
