ROMI C 420 HORIZONTAL MACHINING CENTER

The ROMI C 420 is a robust horizontal machining center designed for high-precision CNC turning operations. Featuring a single main spindle with a maximum turning diameter of 15.740" and a maximum swing of 16.920", this machine delivers reliable performance for a wide range of part sizes. The main spindle chuck diameter is 6.000", supporting versatile workholding options, while the maximum bar diameter capacity is 2.000", making it suitable for both bar-fed and chucked work. The spindle achieves speeds up to 4,000 RPM and is powered by a 10 HP motor, ensuring efficient material removal and smooth operation. The machine is equipped with two tool carriers: a primary square post tool carrier and an optional turret, supporting up to 4 turning tools and 4 rotary tools on the primary carrier, and up to 8 turning and 8 rotary tools on the turret. Only one cutting tool can operate simultaneously. The C 420 operates on a 2-axis configuration, with X-axis travel of 8.660" and Z-axis travel of 22.240". Both axes offer a maximum feed rate and rapid traverse of 393 ipm, enabling fast and accurate positioning. The machine’s rigid construction, combined with its high spindle speed and versatile tooling options, makes it ideal for demanding production environments requiring precision, reliability, and flexibility in machining applications.
