2015 ROMI C420 CNC LATHES
Specifications & Market Value

Technical Description
The ROMI C 420 is a flat-bed CNC teach lathe, the smallest model in the ROMI C Series built by Industrias Romi in Brazil. It is supplied with a Siemens Sinumerik 828D CNC and the Romi Manual Machining Package, which lets the operator run the machine with handwheels like a manual lathe, run simple cycles with a joystick, or fill in cutting parameters on the control screen instead of writing a program. The lathe has a 215 mm (8.5 in) center height, 430 mm (16.9 in) swing over the bed, 200 mm (7.9 in) swing over the cross slide and 1,000 mm (39 in) between centers. Cross-slide travel is 220 mm (8.7 in) and carriage travel is 1,065 mm (42 in), with 10 m/min (394 ipm) rapids on both axes. The standard headstock has an ASA A2-5 spindle nose with a 53 mm (2.1 in) bore, direct drive and a 4 to 4,000 rpm speed range, powered by a 12.5 hp (9 kW) AC main motor at the S6-40% rating. The bed is 305 mm wide. A manual tailstock with an MT-4 quill of 60 mm diameter and 120 mm stroke is standard. Options include an 8-station automatic turret, an 8 in hydraulic chuck, quick-change or rear tool holders, and steady and follow rests. Floor space is 3.10 x 1.24 m (122 x 49 in) and net weight is 2,500 kg (5,500 lb) without chip conveyor.
