A+Technical Description
The SAN SHING SE-3240 is a heavy-duty manual engine lathe designed for precision turning and heavy cutting operations. Featuring a robust, heavily ribbed bed constructed from high-strength cast iron FC-25, the lathe ensures exceptional rigidity and vibration damping for consistent accuracy. The machine offers a 32-inch swing over the bed and a 23.5-inch swing over the cross slide, accommodating large workpieces with ease. The distance between centers is 40 inches, providing ample capacity for extended workpieces. The main spindle is large diameter and precision ground, supported at three points by high-precision bearings, and features a generous 3.125-inch bore for bar stock and tooling flexibility. The spindle delivers a maximum speed of 1,000 RPM, driven by a 10 horsepower motor, enabling efficient material removal across a wide range of metals. The lathe is equipped with a taper of center M.T. No.5 and a quill travel of 230mm (9 inches) in the tailstock for versatile setup options. The apron and carriage include a readily adjustable overload safety device and dual manual and automatic lubrication for smooth slide surface operation. Longitudinal and cross feeds range from 0.05–0.7 mm/rev and 0.025–0.35 mm/rev, respectively, supporting both metric and inch thread cutting. The SE-3240 is engineered for durability, ease of operation, and high-precision performance in demanding industrial environments.
