The Summit 20-4 x 120 Manual Lathe is a heavy-duty, gap-bed engine lathe designed for precision turning and demanding industrial applications. Constructed entirely from cast iron, the lathe provides exceptional rigidity, vibration damping, and long-term durability. It features a 20-inch swing over the bed, 11.88-inch swing over the cross slide, and a 120-inch distance between centers, making it suitable for large workpieces. The spindle bore measures 4.13 inches, allowing for the passage of long stock or bar feed operations. Powered by a robust 10 HP motor, the lathe delivers reliable performance for a wide range of machining tasks. The headstock is cross-ribbed for added strength and stability, and incorporates anti-friction mounted shafts, dynamically balanced components, and hardened, ground alloy steel gears and splines for smooth operation and extended service life. The precision chrome alloy spindle ensures accuracy and longevity. The lathe is equipped with a quick-change gearbox, enabling rapid switching between American (inch), metric, module, and diametrical pitch threads.
