Technical Description

The 2020 YCM NXV1020A is a 3-axis vertical machining center manufactured by Yeong Chin Machinery Industries of Taiwan, representing an updated variant of the NXV1020 with refined structural elements and enhanced dynamic performance. The NXV1020A delivers X/Y/Z travels of 40.2 x 20.1 x 22.8 inches over a 44.1 x 20.5 inch working table, maintaining the proven mid-size work envelope of the NXV series while incorporating improvements to guideway specification and chip management. The 12,000 RPM CAT-40 spindle rated at 15 HP provides high-speed performance for aluminum contouring and balanced power for steel and cast iron operations, driven by YCM’s isolated direct-drive (IDD) spindle system with ceramic bearings for low vibration and extended tool life. Roller-type linear guideways on all axes enable rapid traverse rates of up to 1,417 IPM. A 24-station automatic tool changer supports efficient multi-feature production cycles. The Fanuc control provides rigid tapping, DNC Ethernet, helical interpolation, and conversational programming capability. Overall machine dimensions are approximately 112 x 108 x 108 inches with a machine weight of approximately 14,300 lbs, providing excellent structural mass for the travel class. The NXV1020A’s combination of IDD spindle technology, roller guideways, and high-speed control has made it one of YCM’s most successful and enduring VMC platforms for production machining across a broad spectrum of industries.
