Technical Description

The 2020 YCM NXV1020 is a 3-axis vertical machining center produced by Yeong Chin Machinery Industries of Taiwan, representing one of the company’s flagship general-purpose VMC platforms and among the most widely deployed YCM machines in North America. The NXV1020 delivers X/Y/Z travels of 40.2 x 20.1 x 22.8 inches with a 12,000 RPM CAT-40 spindle rated at 15 HP continuous, providing improved high-speed performance compared to its NSV102A predecessor while maintaining the proven work envelope and structural format. YCM’s isolated direct-drive (IDD) spindle with ceramic bearings enables low-vibration, low-heat-generation operation for superior surface finish and extended tool life. Roller-type linear guideways on all three axes deliver rapid traverse rates up to 1,417 IPM, significantly improving cycle times on programs with frequent repositioning moves. A 24-station automatic tool changer expandable to 30 or 40 stations supports complex multi-operation production programs. The Fanuc or Siemens CNC control provides rigid tapping, helical interpolation, DNC Ethernet connectivity, and operator-friendly programming. Fully enclosed guarding with integrated chip conveyor and coolant management maintains a clean, productive machining environment. At approximately 14,300 lbs machine weight, the NXV1020 provides the structural mass needed for consistent dimensional accuracy across extended production runs in aluminum, steel, cast iron, titanium, and non-ferrous materials.
