The 2023 Brother Speedio S500X2 is a 3-axis high-speed tapping center designed for compact, high-throughput production of aluminum, steel, and non-ferrous components. Built around Brother's BT30 taper spindle platform, the S500X2 delivers a standard maximum spindle speed of 10,000 RPM with continuous (S1) power of 7.1 kW (approximately 9.5 HP); optional spindle packages extend speed to 16,000 RPM or 27,000 RPM for demanding high-speed machining applications, and a high-torque 10,000 RPM option delivers 9.2 kW continuous for heavier cutting. The table measures 600 mm x 400 mm (23.6 x 15.7 inches) and supports axis travels of 500 mm (19.7 inches) in X, 400 mm (15.7 inches) in Y, and 300 mm (11.8 inches) in Z, providing a capable work envelope in a notably compact footprint. The machine is equipped with Brother's proprietary CNC-C00 control, which is fully compatible with Fanuc G-code and supports simultaneous 5-axis control when optional rotary axes are fitted, enabling complex multi-face machining without fixturing changes.
