Technical Description

The 2007 Fadal VMC10 is a 3-axis vertical machining center from Fadal Engineering's standard VMC series, designed as a compact production machine for small-to-medium workpieces. Built at Fadal's facility in Chatsworth, California, the VMC10 features a CAT40 taper spindle with 15 HP of continuous power and a standard maximum speed of 7,500 RPM, with an optional 10,000 RPM high-speed spindle available. The machine provides 20 inches of X-axis travel, 10 inches of Y-axis travel, and 20 inches of Z-axis travel — the 10-inch Y dimension giving the model its name — with a work table measuring approximately 27.5 by 16 inches. The box-way construction provides high rigidity for aggressive cuts in steel, cast iron, and aluminum. The Fadal CNC 88HS control is Fadal's proprietary platform supporting both conversational and ISO G-code programming, widely used and well-supported in North American job shops. Machine weight is approximately 6,500 to 7,000 lbs. The VMC10 is Fadal's most compact standard VMC model, well-suited for shops producing smaller components that require the reliability and rigidity of the Fadal platform within a reduced footprint and lower capital cost relative to the larger VMC15 and VMC3016 models.
