A+Technical Description
The 2016 Fadal VMC15 is a 3-axis vertical machining center and one of Fadal Engineering's most widely produced and recognized models. Built at Fadal's Chatsworth, California facility, the VMC15 is engineered for versatile production machining of medium-sized workpieces in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials. The machine features a CAT40 taper spindle with 15 HP of continuous power and a standard maximum speed of 7,500 RPM, with optional 10,000 RPM high-speed spindle configurations available. Axis travels are 30 inches in X, 16 inches in Y, and 12 inches in Z, with a work table measuring 30 by 16 inches. The box-way construction delivers exceptional rigidity and vibration damping for consistent surface finish quality across a wide range of cutting conditions. Machine control is the Fadal CNC 88HS Plus, Fadal's proprietary conversational and ISO G-code platform that enjoys broad support throughout North American manufacturing. The 21-tool automatic tool changer enables extended unattended production runs. Machine weight is approximately 10,000 lbs. The Fadal VMC15 is one of the best-known American-made VMCs, valued for its robust construction, extensive parts and tooling availability, and large installed base of operator and maintenance expertise across the United States.
