A+Technical Description
The 2001 Fadal VMC15XT is a 3-axis vertical machining center built on the same proven platform as the Fadal VMC15, extended with a 20-inch Z-axis travel for enhanced vertical reach on taller workpieces and deep-cavity molds. Manufactured at Fadal Engineering's facility in Chatsworth, California, the VMC15XT features a CAT40 taper spindle with 15 HP of continuous power and a standard maximum speed of 7,500 RPM, with optional 10,000 RPM high-speed spindle available. X and Y travels remain 30 and 16 inches respectively, shared with the VMC15, while the Z-axis is extended to 20 inches. The work table measures 38 by 16 inches. The box-way construction delivers the same rigidity and damping characteristics that made the VMC15 a benchmark in North American job shop VMCs. Machine control is the Fadal CNC 88HS, providing conversational and ISO G-code programming with broad support across North American manufacturing. The 21-tool automatic tool changer supports multi-operation unattended production cycles. Machine weight is approximately 10,500 lbs. The VMC15XT is particularly well-suited to shops machining deep mold cavities, tall fixtures, or die components that require additional Z-axis clearance beyond what the standard VMC15 provides.
