Technical Description

The 2011 FANUC ROBODRILL ECO is a 3-axis compact drilling, tapping, and milling center from FANUC's RoboDrill ECO series, a cost-optimized variant of the D21 platform introduced for price-sensitive production markets. Based on the same mechanical architecture as the standard D21 DiB-generation RoboDrill, the ECO model offers comparable axis travels, tooling, and CNC capability at a reduced initial acquisition cost through streamlined configurations. The 650 x 400 mm worktable accommodates workpieces up to 300 kg across 500 mm X, 400 mm Y, and 330 mm Z travels. The BBT30 dual-contact spindle runs at up to 24,000 RPM, and the 21-tool arm-type ATC achieves 0.9-second tool-to-tool change time. The FANUC Series 31i-B CNC provides full G-code, FANUC macro B, and contouring functionality compatible with the broader RoboDrill D-series ecosystem. Rapid traverse and axis acceleration rates match the standard D21 platform, preserving cycle time performance. Continuous spindle power is approximately 5 HP with peak output near 15 HP. Machine weight is approximately 4,400 lbs. The ECO designation has since been discontinued in FANUC's catalog, with the current D21 DiB5 Plus series serving as the standard offering. RoboDrill ECO machines remain fully supported under standard FANUC service contracts, with parts interchangeability shared across the D21 platform family.
