A+Technical Description
The 2001 FANUC T14IB is a 3-axis compact drilling, tapping, and milling center from the FANUC RoboDrill Alpha T14iB series, the second generation of FANUC's T14 platform. The T14iB introduced a higher-speed spindle compared to the T14iA, with maximum speeds reaching 15,000 RPM for expanded capability in high-speed machining of aluminum, magnesium, and other non-ferrous alloys. The BT30 spindle supports synchronized rigid tapping, and the 14-tool arm-type ATC achieves 0.9-second tool-to-tool change time. The upgraded 650 x 400 mm worktable accommodates workpieces up to 200 kg within 500 mm X, 400 mm Y, and 330 mm Z travels. Rapid traverse approaches 2,125 IPM. The FANUC 16i-MB CNC provides improved contouring capability, G-code compatibility, and FANUC macro B, representing an upgrade from the 16i-MA used in the T14iA. Continuous spindle power is approximately 7.5 HP. Machine weight is approximately 3,850 lbs. The T14iB's combination of a 15,000 RPM spindle, larger table, and improved CNC made it a significant step forward in RoboDrill performance, capable of high-surface-finish aluminum machining beyond pure drilling and tapping. The T14iB mechanical architecture remained largely unchanged through the subsequent T14iD generation, establishing core design elements retained in the current D-series platform.
