Technical Description

The 2000 FIDIA K211 is a 5-axis high-speed bridge machining center from FIDIA, the Italian specialist in high-speed contour milling systems. The K211 is purpose-built for complex 5-axis surface machining of large workpieces in aerospace, automotive die and mold, and precision toolmaking applications, combining a fixed T-slot bed with a moving bridge-mounted spindle for large-format access. The 3,500 x 1,500 mm work bed accommodates workpieces up to 12,000 kg across axis travels of 2,700 mm X, 1,100 mm Y, and up to 1,400 mm Z. A bi-rotary A/C milling head provides full 5-axis simultaneous interpolation with the A axis ranging +95 to -110 degrees and C axis rotating continuously at 360 degrees, enabling complete multi-sided machining of complex sculptured surfaces in a single setup. The HSK-63 spindle operates at up to 24,000 RPM with approximately 45 HP for high-speed finishing of aluminum, titanium, and hardened steel dies. ATC capacity ranges from 24 to 60 tools depending on configuration. The FIDIA C20 CNC with XP operating system delivers advanced 5-axis simultaneous interpolation, FIDIA's proprietary high-speed contouring algorithms, and look-ahead capability optimized for complex surface machining. Machine weight is approximately 57,319 lbs. The K211 is particularly valued in automotive stamping die manufacture and aerospace structural component production.
