Technical Description

The 2016 Haas CM1 is a 3-axis compact micromachining center manufactured by Haas Automation of Oxnard, California. The CM1 is engineered for high-speed precision machining of small, complex parts in medical, dental, watchmaking, electronics, and prototype applications where a standard VMC is too large. The machine provides X, Y, and Z travels of 12, 10, and 14 inches respectively, with a 22.5 x 10-inch worktable supporting up to 150 lbs. The ISO 20-taper high-speed spindle operates to 30,000 RPM standard (50,000 RPM optional) with 5 HP, enabling fine-finish micromachining in aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, and engineering plastics with very small diameter tools. A 20-pocket automatic tool changer supports uninterrupted multi-tool operations. Rapid traverse rates of 757 IPM in all axes deliver outstanding dynamic performance for small-part production. The machine runs on single-phase 220 VAC (16A) or three-phase power, allowing installation in nearly any facility. CNC motion control is provided by the Haas Next Generation Control (NGC), offering the full Haas programming environment in a compact machine. The CM1 weighs approximately 2,200 lbs and fits within a footprint of approximately 50 x 53 inches with a height of approximately 68 inches.
