Technical Description

The 2019 Haas UMC1000SS P is a 5-axis universal machining center that combines the Super Speed spindle upgrade with an integrated pallet system, built on the proven UMC-1000 trunnion-style platform. Linear travel is 40" x 32" x 28" (X/Y/Z), with a 630 mm (approximately 24.8") diameter table pallet, A-axis tilt of ±110°, and continuous C-axis rotation of 360°. The Super Speed CAT40 spindle delivers 30 HP continuous at up to 15,000 RPM, enabling high-surface-speed 5-axis machining of aluminum, aerospace alloys, and other materials where spindle speed is a primary cycle time driver. The integrated pallet system allows the operator to load and fixture the next workpiece while the machine is actively cutting, significantly improving spindle utilization and reducing non-cut time in production environments. A 40+1 side-mount tool changer is standard, and coolant-through spindle capability supports chip evacuation and tool life in deep-pocket and small-diameter tooling applications. The Haas NGC control provides full 5-axis interpolation, Dynamic Work Offsets, Tool Center Point Control, TCPC / WSEC capability, and broad CAM post-processor compatibility. Pallet pool management is handled through the standard Haas interface, which is operator-friendly relative to competing automation configurations.
