A+Technical Description
The 2020 Kitamura Mycenter-3XD is a 3-axis vertical machining center designed for high-rigidity precision machining across a versatile mid-size travel envelope. Built on Kitamura's proven fixed-column, moving-table Meehanite cast iron structure, the 3XD provides the thermal stability and vibration damping required for consistent accuracy in production and toolroom environments. The worktable measures approximately 19.7 by 33.9 inches (500 x 860 mm), with axis travels of 30 inches in X, 20.1 inches in Y, and 20.1 inches in Z. The CAT-40 spindle reaches 12,000 RPM powered by a high-torque NRG belt-drive motor rated up to 35 HP peak, providing strong low-speed torque for heavy roughing as well as adequate spindle speed for aluminum and non-ferrous finishing. Precision double-nut ball screws on all axes with roller guideways deliver rapid traverse rates with minimal backlash, enabling high-productivity production cycles. The Kitamura Arumatik or Fanuc-based CNC control provides look-ahead interpolation, rigid tapping, and high-speed machining cycles. A 30-tool automatic tool changer supports multi-operation programs. Full enclosure guarding, integrated chip conveyor, and optional through-spindle coolant enable extended unmanned production operation. The estimated machine weight is approximately 11,000 lbs. The Mycenter-3XD is well suited for heavy-duty mold components, fixture work, and industrial part manufacturing requiring robust cutting capability in a compact, high-precision platform.
