Technical Description

The 2020 Lagun GVC1000 is a 3-axis vertical machining center manufactured by Lagun Machine Tools in Spain, designed for general precision machining of medium to large workpieces in a rigid, production-oriented platform. The fixed-column structure with a moving table provides a stable machining environment for milling, drilling, tapping, and boring operations across a broad range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The worktable measures 1,200 by 500 mm (47.2 by 19.7 inches) and supports a workpiece load of up to 750 to 1,000 kg, with axis travels of 39.4 inches in X, 19.7 inches in Y, and 24.4 inches in Z. The ISO-40 spindle reaches 6,000 RPM with continuous power of 14.8 to 17.4 HP (11 to 13 kW depending on configuration), providing adequate speed and torque for a wide range of production applications. Rapid traverse rates of 787 IPM (20,000 mm/min) minimize non-cut time across the full travel envelope. The CNC control, which is Fanuc or Heidenhain depending on year of manufacture and customer specification, provides full G-code programming, rigid tapping, and canned cycle support. A 24-tool magazine automatic tool changer supports multi-step production programs. The machine weighs approximately 13,890 lbs (6,300 kg). The GVC1000 is well suited for precision industrial component manufacturing, fixture work, mold cavity machining, and general production milling where a dependable European-built VMC platform is required.
