A+Technical Description
The 2006 Leadwell V40 is a 3-axis vertical machining center representing Leadwell's versatile mid-range production VMC, engineered for reliable general-purpose machining of medium-sized workpieces in job shop and production environments. The fixed-column, moving-table cast iron structure provides a stable machining platform for milling, drilling, tapping, and boring across ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The worktable measures approximately 47.2 by 19.6 inches (1,200 x 498 mm) and supports workpieces up to 1,100 lbs, with axis travels of 40 inches in X, 20 inches in Y, and 20 inches in Z. The CAT-40 or BT-40 spindle reaches 8,000 RPM with 12 HP continuous output, appropriate for production cutting across a range of materials. Rapid traverse rates of 787 IPM minimize non-cut time. The Fanuc CNC provides look-ahead interpolation, rigid tapping, canned cycles, and DNC networking. A 20-tool automatic tool changer enables multi-step programs. Machine weight is approximately 13,200 lbs with overall dimensions of approximately 102 by 117 by 99 inches. The V40 is well suited for general production machining of automotive, aerospace, and industrial components requiring a dependable, operator-friendly CNC VMC.
