A+Technical Description
The 2004 Leadwell V60 is a 3-axis large-format vertical machining center designed for production machining of long, heavy workpieces requiring nearly 60 inches of X-axis travel. The rigid fixed-column, moving-table cast iron structure provides stability and vibration damping for accurate machining across the full large-format envelope. The worktable measures 66 by 29.5 inches (1,676 x 749 mm) and supports workpieces up to 2,640 lbs, with axis travels of 59.8 inches in X, 29.9 inches in Y, and 24 inches in Z. The CAT-40 spindle reaches 8,000 RPM with 15 to 20 HP continuous output. Rapid traverse rates of 708 IPM in X and Y minimize non-cut time. The Fanuc CNC provides look-ahead interpolation, rigid tapping, and canned cycles. A 24-tool ATC enables complex multi-step programs. The V60 is particularly well suited for aerospace structural components, long fixture plates, multi-part setups, large mold bases, and industrial equipment parts requiring large X-axis work reach in a dependable production VMC.
