Technical Description

The 2010 Makino PS65 is a 3-axis vertical machining center from Makino's PS series, designed for versatile production machining in a compact, highly capable platform. The PS65 provides 26.0-inch X-axis travel, 20.0-inch Y-axis travel, and 18.1-inch Z-axis travel, served by a 36.2- by 20.1-inch work table. The standard 14,000 RPM spindle with 25 HP offers broad material capability across steel, aluminum, cast iron, and non-ferrous alloys; optional 20,000 and 30,000 RPM spindle configurations are available for high-speed die/mold finishing and graphite electrode machining applications. The Makino Professional P CNC delivers high-speed contouring, rigid tapping, and intuitive operator programming with a modern interface. A 30-tool automatic tool changer with optional 60-tool capacity enables extended multi-operation programs. The PS65's rigid cast iron construction and precision linear motion system maintain positional accuracy and surface finish quality across sustained production cycles. The machine occupies a compact floor space of approximately 89 inches wide by 83 inches deep with an overall height of approximately 102 inches, and weighs approximately 14,550 lbs. The PS65 is particularly well-suited to job shops, mold makers, and production facilities requiring reliable Makino-quality VMC performance in a smaller footprint with broad spindle speed configurability.
