A+Technical Description
The 1987 Matsuura V.Plus 800 is a 3-axis vertical machining center from Matsuura Machinery's first-generation V.Plus series, sold in this era as the MC-800V platform. Built on a rigid one-piece Meehanite cast iron bed and column, the V.Plus 800 was designed for high-accuracy production machining of steel, cast iron, and aluminum components. The worktable measures 1,150 x 410 mm (45.27" x 16.14") and supports a maximum workpiece load of 700 kg (1,540 lbs) with five T-slots for workholding versatility. Axis travels are 800 mm (31.5") in X, 440 mm (17.32") in Y, and 485 mm (19.09") in Z, with spindle nose-to-table distance of approximately 175 to 685 mm. The BT40 spindle operates up to 6,000 RPM with a motor rated at approximately 15 HP, delivering ample torque for conventional milling, drilling, boring, and tapping operations. Rapid traverse rates are 590 IPM in X/Y and 480 IPM in Z. The 30-tool arm-type ATC supports multi-operation programs without operator intervention. The CNC control is a Yasnac MX2 (Yaskawa) with a 9-inch monochrome CRT interface, supporting EIA/ISO G-code programming and standard machining canned cycles. The V.Plus 800 established the foundation for Matsuura's V-series VMC lineage and represents a durable, proven platform for general-purpose precision machining.
