Technical Description

The 2014 Matsuura VX-1500 is a 3-axis vertical machining center from Matsuura's VX-series, the larger sibling of the VX-1000 and designed for machining medium-to-large workpieces with high precision. The worktable measures 1,700 x 700 mm (66.93" x 27.56") and supports a maximum load of 2,000 kg (4,410 lbs). Axis travels are 1,524 mm (59.99") in X, 700 mm (27.56") in Y, and 610 mm (24.02") in Z. The BT40 spindle is rated at approximately 22 HP continuous with a standard maximum speed of 15,000 RPM, making it well suited to high-speed finishing of aluminum and non-ferrous materials as well as conventional steel milling. A standard 48-tool arm-type ATC minimizes changeover time across complex multi-operation programs. The CNC is the Fanuc 30i-B, supporting high-speed contouring, rigid tapping, AICC II look-ahead interpolation, and optional 4th-axis interface. Matsuura's precision ground ballscrews, box-way construction, and thermal compensation system maintain accuracy and repeatability across extended production runs. Machine weight is approximately 13,600 kg (30,000 lbs). The VX-1500 is a robust platform for aerospace, energy, and heavy manufacturing applications requiring a large work envelope combined with Matsuura accuracy standards.
