A+Technical Description
The 2007 Toyoda BM1600 is a 3-axis vertical machining center of the bed mill style, manufactured by AWEA Mechantronic Co. of Taiwan and distributed in North America under the Toyoda brand. The BM1600 is the largest model in the BM series, offering the greatest work envelope within the fixed-column, moving-table bed mill architecture. Box guideway construction throughout provides high rigidity and excellent damping for heavy cutting operations. The work table measures 67" x 31.5" with a maximum table load capacity of approximately 3,968 to 4,409 lbs. Axis travels of 63.0" in X, 31.5" in Y, and 31.5" in Z accommodate large workpieces and fixtures. The two-speed geared spindle achieves a maximum speed of 6,000 RPM with 25 to 35 HP continuous power, accommodating CAT 50 tooling through a 30 to 40-tool automatic tool changer. The Fanuc 18i-MB CNC control provides a capable operator interface with full G-code and macro programming support. Overall machine dimensions are approximately 185" long x 128" wide x 122" high. Machine weight is estimated at approximately 18,000 to 20,000 lbs. The BM1600 is suited to production environments requiring a large-format heavy-duty bed mill VMC for demanding milling, boring, and drilling applications in steel, cast iron, and heavy alloys.
