Technical Description

The 2014 YCM FX380A is a 5-axis vertical machining center produced by Yeong Chin Machinery Industries of Taiwan, engineered for the precision machining of complex small-to-medium components in aerospace, automotive, medical device, die and mold, and job shop industries. The machine provides X/Y/Z linear travels of 27.6 x 20.5 x 18.9 inches with a 14.96 inch (380 mm) diameter integrated rotary table capable of full 4+1 indexed or simultaneous 5-axis contouring. The 3.15 inch through-hole in the rotary table accommodates shaft-type workpieces and facilitates complex fixturing arrangements. A high-speed BBT40 spindle reaches 12,000 RPM driven by a 22 kW (approximately 30 HP) motor, delivering strong cutting performance across aluminum, steel, titanium, and difficult alloys. The 30-station automatic tool changer provides ample capacity for complex multi-feature 5-axis programs. The Fanuc CNC with RTCP function simplifies 5-axis programming by compensating tool center motion automatically as rotary axes move. The machine’s rigid C-frame structure and thermally symmetric design minimize positional drift during extended production runs. Rapid traverse rates of 1,417 IPM on X and Y axes enable fast repositioning between features. The FX380A addresses the growing demand for affordable, compact 5-axis capability in shops transitioning from 3-axis production to simultaneous multi-axis part consolidation.
