2005 ACER VMC2040L VERTICAL MACHINING CENTERS
Specifications & Market Value

Technical Description
The 2005 Acer VMC2040L is a 3-axis vertical machining center with a 40-inch X-axis travel and 20-inch Y-axis travel, designed for mold, die, and production machining applications requiring a large table envelope. The spindle is powered by a 15 HP motor (10 HP S1 continuous rating) and reaches a maximum speed of 8,000 RPM through a CAT-40 taper interface. The worktable measures 42.1 by 19.6 inches and the Z-axis provides 20 inches of vertical travel. The machine is equipped with a 24-station side-mount tool changer and uses the Anilam 6000M CNC control, which is Fanuc G-code compatible. Rapid traverse reaches 945 IPM on all axes. Box-way construction throughout the X, Y, and Z axes contributes to the machine's rigidity and suitability for aggressive material removal. Standard equipment on the 2005 VMC2040L includes flood coolant with chip auger conveyor, automatic way lubrication, and full enclosure sheet metal guarding. The machine weighs approximately 12,100 pounds. The VMC2040L was Acer's flagship mid-size machining center during this period, popular in North American shops for its long table, capable spindle, and competitive price point.
