Technical Description

The 2001 Acra ADT450 is a 3-axis CNC drill-and-tap machining center designed for high-throughput production of small to medium components requiring rapid hole-making, threading, and light milling operations. The spindle is rated at 5 HP and reaches a maximum speed of 8,000 RPM through a No. 30 taper interface, with an optional 12,000 RPM configuration available. The compact worktable measures 20 by 12.5 inches and can accommodate workpieces up to 441 pounds. Axis travels are 18 inches in X, 12 inches in Y, and 12 inches in Z. A 12-station automatic tool changer with a chip-to-chip time of 3 seconds enables rapid production cycling. Rapid traverse reaches 1,417 IPM on all three axes, making this machine exceptionally fast for its class. The ADT450 is particularly well suited for aluminum and non-ferrous parts production where speed and cycle time are critical. Its rigid column construction and precision ballscrews ensure consistent accuracy across high-volume runs. The CNC control system on 2001 production units provides full G-code compatibility for standard part programs. Standard equipment includes flood coolant, automatic lubrication, and enclosure guarding. The Acra ADT450 was a popular choice for electronics, automotive component, and precision parts manufacturers requiring fast, repeatable performance in a compact footprint.
