Technical Description

The 2018 Akira Seiki HV5.5A is a 3-axis high-rigidity vertical machining center from Akira Seiki's HV (Heavy-duty Vertical) series, engineered for demanding heavy-duty cutting of ferrous and exotic materials. The machine features a BT-50 or CAT-50 taper spindle driven by a 42 HP peak motor (35 HP at 30-minute rating) with oil-chilling temperature control, providing consistent spindle performance during extended heavy cutting cycles. Maximum spindle speed is 8,000 RPM (6,000 RPM optional). The worktable measures 1,500 by 600 millimeters (59 by 23.6 inches) and supports a maximum workpiece load of 1,800 kilograms. Axis travels are 1,350 mm (53 inches) in X, 640 mm (25 inches) in Y, and 660 mm (26 inches) in Z. Rapid traverse reaches 1,417 IPM in X and Y and 1,181 IPM in Z.
