A+Technical Description
The Atrump M218 is a 3-axis vertical machining center from Atrump Machinery Inc., representing a mid-size, high-performance VMC combining larger axis travels with a higher-speed spindle compared to the entry-level E216. The M218 features a CAT-40 spindle taper with a 10 HP motor and a maximum spindle speed of 8,000 RPM, capable of efficient machining of aluminum, stainless steel, and alloy materials. The worktable measures 32.5 by 16 inches. Axis travels are 26 inches in X, 18 inches in Y, and 24 inches in Z. An automatic tool changer is standard equipment. The machine is controlled by a Centroid M400 CNC system providing full G-code and conversational programming, rigid tapping, high-speed lookahead, and USB/Ethernet connectivity. Box-way guideway construction provides rigidity and damping for a wide range of machining applications. The M218 is well suited for job shops and production facilities requiring a reliable, mid-size VMC with more spindle power and Z-axis clearance than smaller bed mill configurations. Standard equipment includes flood coolant, automatic lubrication, programmable spindle speed, and full enclosure guarding.
