Technical Description

The AWEA SP2016 is a 3-axis bridge-type vertical machining center from AWEA Mechantronic Co., Ltd.'s SP series, designed for precision machining of large mold and die workpieces, structural components, and production parts requiring a large work envelope with high structural rigidity. The SP2016 features a symmetrical bridge column design that provides superior thermal stability and mechanical stiffness compared to fixed-column VMCs at this scale. X-axis travel is approximately 2,080 mm (81.9 inches), Y-axis travel is approximately 1,625 mm (64 inches), and Z-axis travel is approximately 760 mm (29.9 inches). The worktable measures approximately 2,300 by 1,550 millimeters (90.6 by 61 inches). The spindle reaches 8,000 RPM through a BT-50 or CAT-50 taper interface. A Fanuc 18i or 31i-MB CNC control is standard, with 36-tool ATC. Standard equipment includes flood coolant, through-spindle coolant option, chip conveyor, automatic lubrication, and full enclosure guarding. The SP2016 is designed for automotive die shops, aerospace component manufacturers, and large mold makers requiring precision and consistency across a very large work envelope.
