A+Technical Description
The 2016 Brother Speedio R450X1 is a 3-axis high-speed tapping center and machining center produced by Brother Industries, Ltd. (Japan) and designed for compact, high-speed production of small to medium precision components. The machine features a two-face pallet changer table with each pallet measuring 23.6 inches by 11.8 inches, with a maximum table load of 265 lbs per face (up to 441 lbs with parameter adjustment). The spindle uses a BT30 (MAS 7/24 taper No. 30) interface and is driven by a motor rated at 9 HP (6.7 kW) continuous (S1) at the standard 10,000 RPM configuration, with optional 16,000 RPM and high-torque 10,000 RPM spindle variants available. X-axis travel is 17.7 inches (450mm), Y-axis travel is 12.6 inches (320mm), and Z-axis travel is 12.0 inches (305mm). The machine is equipped with a Brother CNC-C00 proprietary control system, fully compatible with Fanuc G-code. Rapid traverse rates reach 1,969 IPM (50 m/min) on all three axes simultaneously. The automatic tool changer holds 14 or 22 tools with a chip-to-chip time of 1.6 seconds (14-tool) — one of the fastest in its class. The Quick Turn (QT) 2-face pallet changer enables simultaneous load/unload and machining cycles, dramatically improving throughput. Overall machine dimensions are approximately 104 inches deep by 55 inches wide by 102 inches tall, with a machine weight of approximately 5,954 lbs. Standard equipment includes coolant system and automatic lubrication.
