The 2016 Brother Speedio Sx1000 is a 3-axis high-speed tapping center that extends the Speedio platform to larger workpieces, featuring a 1,000 mm X-axis travel that significantly expands the machinable work envelope compared to the standard S500 and S700 series. Despite its larger capacity, the Sx1000 retains the hallmark characteristics of the Speedio line, including a BT30 taper spindle, sub-1.4-second chip-to-chip ATC times, and 50 m/min rapid traverse rates on all linear axes. The standard spindle delivers a maximum speed of 10,000 RPM with a continuous (S1) power rating of 6.7 kW (approximately 9.0 HP); an optional 16,000 RPM spindle configuration is available for higher-speed applications. The work table measures 1,100 mm x 500 mm (43.3 x 19.7 inches), with axis travels of 1,000 mm (39.4 inches) in X, 500 mm (19.7 inches) in Y, and 300 mm (11.8 inches) in Z, making the machine suitable for larger aluminum and non-ferrous components that exceed the capacity of standard Speedio models. The machine is governed by the Brother CNC-C00 control, which is fully Fanuc G-code compatible and supports simultaneous 5-axis control when optional rotary axes are installed.
