Technical Description

The 2002 Brother TCS2A is a 3-axis CNC drilling and tapping center designed for compact, high-speed production of small precision parts in aluminum and non-ferrous materials. The BT30 spindle produces approximately 4.9 kW of continuous power (approximately 6.6 HP) and achieves maximum speeds of 10,000 RPM in the standard configuration, with a 16,000 RPM spindle available as an option. The work table measures 600 mm x 300 mm (23.6 x 11.8 inches), with axis travels of 480 mm (18.9 inches) in X, 360 mm (14.2 inches) in Y, and 270 mm (10.6 inches) in Z. A 14-tool automatic tool changer enables efficient operation across diverse part programs. The Brother CNC-A00 control provides the fast processing and high-speed tapping cycles for which this series is well known. Overall machine footprint is approximately 63.7 x 104.6 inches with a height of approximately 92.5 inches, and the machine weighs approximately 3,968 lbs (1,800 kg). The TCS2A is the first generation of the TC-S2 tapping center family, succeeded by the TCS2B and TCS2C series. Optional configurations include the long-table TC-S2A-O variant with 700 mm X travel for larger workpieces.
