Technical Description

The 2014 DMG MORI SEIKI DMF 600 LINEAR is a 3-axis extra-large-format vertical machining center with linear direct drives, representing the largest standard configuration in the DMF LINEAR series. The fixed gantry structure with longitudinal bed supports a worktable measuring 255.9 inches by 43.3 inches, providing unmatched capacity for the longest structural aerospace components, large tooling fixtures, and heavy fabricated assemblies. Linear drives on all axes deliver high traverse rates and direct-measurement positioning accuracy across the full 236.2-inch (X), 43.3-inch (Y), and 35.4-inch (Z) travel range. The motor spindle delivers 32 kW of continuous power at speeds up to 10,000 RPM via an HSK-A100 or SK 50 interface, with optional packages extending to 18,000 RPM. The CNC system is Siemens 840D sl with CELOS or optionally Heidenhain iTNC 530, supporting advanced surface quality cycles and large part program management. Integrated chip management, high-pressure coolant, and thermal error compensation systems support productive unattended operation across extended production shifts. At approximately 35,000 kg installed weight, the DMF 600 LINEAR requires a dedicated reinforced foundation. The machine is well-suited to aerospace prime contractors, defense manufacturing, and large industrial equipment producers requiring the highest structural component machining capacity in a linear-drive VMC configuration.
