Technical Description

The 2018 Doosan DCM 3780 is a 3-axis double-column machining center built for the heaviest and most demanding large-format precision machining applications. With the largest working envelope in the DCM series, the DCM 3780 is engineered for industries that require machining extremely long and wide components to tight dimensional tolerances. The bridge-gantry structure provides maximum rigidity, with box-welded column and cross-rail construction ensuring stability under the highest cutting loads. The worktable measures 319.1 inches by 126 inches (8,100 mm x 3,200 mm) with a maximum table load capacity of 99,208 pounds (45,000 kg). Axis travels span 324.8 inches (X), 165.4 inches (Y), and 39.4 inches (Z), accommodating the largest of industrial components. The spindle is rated at 35 HP continuous and runs up to 8,000 RPM with a CAT50 taper for high-torque heavy-cut operations. A 40-position automatic tool changer is standard. The Fanuc 31i-B CNC provides full multi-axis contouring, rigid tapping, and optional 5-face machining capability. Standard equipment includes through-spindle coolant, heavy-duty chip conveyors, telescopic way covers, and centralized lubrication. The DCM 3780 targets heavy industrial sectors including roll manufacturing, press tool production, shipbuilding, and large aerospace structures where component size and weight exceed the capacity of conventional machining centers.
