Technical Description

The 2013 Doosan DMV 8030 is a 3-axis extra-large vertical machining center designed for the machining of very long workpieces requiring extended X-axis travel. Building on the proven DMV series platform, the DMV 8030 extends the X-axis to 80 inches (2,032 mm), making it capable of handling large structural components, long mold bases, aerospace skins, and extended bed components that exceed the capacity of standard VMC platforms. The rigid C-frame construction with wide-span box guideways maintains structural integrity across the full 80-inch travel range. The worktable provides an 83-inch by 30-inch work surface to accommodate long workpieces or extended fixture setups. Axis travels measure 80 inches (X), 30 inches (Y), and 28 inches (Z). The spindle delivers 30 HP of continuous power at speeds up to 8,000 RPM with a CAT50 taper for high-torque cutting. The automatic tool changer enables complex multi-feature programs to run unattended across the large work envelope. Controlled by a Fanuc CNC system with full 3-axis contouring, rigid tapping, and advanced tool management, the DMV 8030 is effective for heavy production in aerospace, energy, and large-part precision machining. Standard equipment includes through-spindle coolant, chip conveyors, and full machine enclosure. Machine weight is approximately 37,000 pounds, consistent with the heavy-duty construction of this extra-large VMC.
