Technical Description

The 2021 Doosan DNM4000 is a 3-axis vertical machining center engineered for compact, high-productivity machining in job shop and production environments. Built on a heavily ribbed cast iron structure, the DNM4000 delivers excellent rigidity and thermal stability for consistent part accuracy across a wide range of workpiece materials including steel, aluminum, and cast iron. The machine provides a 520 mm (20.5 in) X-axis travel, 400 mm (15.7 in) Y-axis travel, and 480 mm (18.9 in) Z-axis travel, accommodated by a 650 x 400 mm worktable capable of supporting small- to mid-sized prismatic workpieces. The direct-coupled spindle reaches 12,000 RPM and is driven by an 11 kW (continuous) motor, supplying the combination of speed and torque required for general-purpose milling, drilling, boring, and contouring operations. High-speed rapid traverse on all linear axes minimizes non-cutting time and supports efficient cycle times. The DNM4000 is governed by the Fanuc 0i-MF CNC control, which provides an intuitive operator interface, conversational programming support, and broad compatibility with standard G-code part programs. A 24-tool arm-type automatic tool changer and full machine enclosure with splash guarding are standard. Linear guideways on all three axes deliver smooth, accurate positioning with minimal maintenance demands throughout the machine's service life. The DNM4000 occupies a floor footprint of approximately 2,845 x 1,651 mm (112 x 65 in) and has a machine weight of approximately 3,629 kg (8,000 lb), making it well-suited for facilities where available floor space is a key consideration.
