Technical Description

The 2021 Doosan DNM4500 is a 3-axis vertical machining center designed for mid-range production machining of steel, cast iron, and aluminum workpieces. The machine is built on a heavily ribbed cast iron base and column structure engineered for high rigidity and long-term dimensional stability under sustained cutting loads. The DNM4500 provides an X-axis travel of 800 mm (31.5 in), Y-axis travel of 450 mm (17.7 in), and Z-axis travel of 510 mm (20.1 in), supported by a 1,000 x 450 mm worktable with a maximum table load of 600 kg. The standard spindle is rated at 15 kW (continuous) with a maximum speed of 8,000 RPM, delivering the torque characteristics suited for general-purpose milling, drilling, boring, and tapping of ferrous materials. An optional 15,000 RPM high-speed spindle is also available for applications demanding elevated surface speeds. The DNM4500 is equipped with the Fanuc 0i-MF Plus CNC control with a 15-inch touchscreen iHMi interface, providing conversational programming support, tool management, and full compatibility with standard G-code part programs. A 30+1 arm-type automatic tool changer and BT40 (CAT40) spindle taper are standard. Linear roller guideways on all three axes deliver smooth, precise motion with low frictional resistance and reduced maintenance requirements. The machine occupies a floor footprint of approximately 2,158 x 2,615 mm (85.0 x 103.0 in) with an overall height of approximately 2,985 mm (117.5 in) and a machine weight of approximately 5,000 kg (11,023 lb). The DNM4500 is a well-established mid-size VMC platform suitable for job shops and production facilities requiring reliable general-purpose vertical machining capability.
