Technical Description

The 2020 Doosan DVF 5000 is a 5-axis vertical machining center featuring an integrated rotary/tilt table (B and C axes) for simultaneous 5-axis machining of complex aerospace, medical, mold and die, and precision mechanical components requiring multi-surface access in a single setup. The machine provides X-axis travel of 625 mm (24.6 in), Y-axis travel of 450 mm (17.7 in), and Z-axis travel of 400 mm (15.7 in), with a 500 mm diameter rotary/tilt table offering B-axis tilt from -30° to +110° and continuous 360° C-axis rotation for full 5-sided and simultaneous 5-axis contouring capability. Maximum table load is 400 kg. The spindle delivers 18.5 kW (continuous) at a standard maximum speed of 12,000 RPM with a BT40 (CAT40) Big-Plus spindle taper; optional 15,000 and 18,000 RPM spindle configurations are available for applications requiring higher surface speeds. The DVF 5000 is governed by the Fanuc 31i-B5 CNC control, purpose-built for 5-axis simultaneous machining with integrated RTCP (Rotary Tool Center Point) compensation, 3D tool radius compensation, and full 5-axis interpolation support. Siemens 840D sl and Heidenhain TNC 640 controls are available as alternatives. A standard 60-tool arm-type automatic tool changer (expandable to 120 tools) supports complex multi-operation programs without manual tool intervention. The machine occupies a floor footprint of approximately 2,900 x 2,205 mm (114.2 x 86.8 in), stands approximately 2,890 mm (113.8 in) tall, and weighs approximately 7,500 kg (16,535 lb). The DVF 5000 is a compact yet capable 5-axis platform suited for precision component manufacturers requiring true simultaneous 5-axis machining within a mid-size footprint.
