Technical Description

The 2022 Doosan DVF 5000 is a 5-axis vertical machining center designed for complex, multi-surface part production in a single setup. Built around a 500 mm diameter trunnion rotary-tilt table with B- and C-axis rotation, the DVF 5000 eliminates the need for multiple fixturings by providing full 5-axis simultaneous cutting capability. The machine delivers X-, Y-, and Z-axis travels of 24.6, 17.7, and 15.7 inches respectively, with a 30 HP (22 kW) spindle reaching up to 18,000 RPM on a BIG PLUS CAT 40 taper. The standard CNC control is a Fanuc 31i-B5, with Heidenhain TNC 640 and Siemens 840D sl available as options. The B-axis tilts from -30 to +110 degrees while the C-axis provides full 360-degree continuous rotation, accommodating parts up to 550 mm in diameter and 450 mm in height. A 60-tool automatic tool changer (expandable to 120) and through-spindle coolant support high-productivity aerospace, medical, and mold applications. The table accepts workpieces weighing up to 882 lbs (400 kg). Rapid traverse rates reach 1,575 IPM on all linear axes. The machine footprint measures approximately 114 x 87 inches with an installed height of 114 inches and a total weight of approximately 16,534 lbs (7,500 kg), making it a capable mid-range 5-axis platform suited to job shops and production facilities requiring high-mix, precision multi-axis work.
