Technical Description

The 2017 Doosan VC630-5AX is a 5-axis vertical machining center built around a 630 mm diameter rotary table with simultaneous A- and C-axis motion for full 5-sided part machining in a single setup. The A-axis provides +30 to -120 degree tilt while the C-axis offers continuous 360-degree rotation, enabling access to complex part geometries without re-clamping. Linear travels measure 25.6 inches in X, 30.1 inches in Y, and 20.5 inches in Z, accommodating workpieces up to 730 mm in diameter and 500 mm in height with a maximum table load of 1,100 lbs (500 kg). The BIG PLUS CAT 40 spindle delivers 24.8 HP (18.5 kW) continuous at up to 12,000 RPM, with a 20,000 RPM high-speed option available. The standard CNC control is a Fanuc 31i-5 (5-axis), with Heidenhain iTNC 530 and Siemens 840D sl available as options. The VC630-5AX is designed for aerospace, medical implant, energy, and precision mold applications requiring complex multi-surface machining in titanium, Inconel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Through-spindle coolant and an optional automated pallet changer (APC) extend unmanned production capability. Overall machine dimensions are approximately 180.6 x 126.0 inches with an installed height of 129.7 inches and a total weight of approximately 27,557 lbs (12,500 kg) in standard configuration.
