Technical Description

The 2018 FANUC ROBODRILL is a 3-axis compact drilling, tapping, and milling center from FANUC's RoboDrill D21-series platform, representing the DiA or DiB generation of this industry-benchmark machining center line. Designed for high-speed precision machining of small to medium components in automotive, medical, electronics, and aerospace supply chains, the D21-series RoboDrill combines a BBT30 dual-contact spindle with FANUC's integrated servo technology for maximum rigidity and accuracy. The spindle operates at up to 10,000 RPM standard, with a 24,000 RPM option available for high-speed aluminum and non-ferrous applications. The 650 x 400 mm worktable accommodates workpieces up to 300 kg within a 500 mm X, 400 mm Y, and 330 mm Z travel envelope. The 21-tool arm-type ATC achieves 0.9-second tool-to-tool changes, and rapid traverse rates of up to 54 m/min minimize non-cutting time. The FANUC Series 31i-B CNC delivers advanced contouring, FANUC macro B, AI contour control, and seamless integration with FANUC robots and automation systems. Continuous spindle power is approximately 5 HP, with peak output approaching 15 HP at one minute. Machine weight is approximately 4,400 lbs and the overall footprint is roughly 64 inches long by 80 inches wide by 88 inches tall, enabling high-density cell arrangements. Built-in FANUC servo and spindle drive technology simplifies maintenance and spare-parts management.
