A+Technical Description
The 2021 FANUC ROBODRILL A-D21 MIB5 is a 5-axis compact drilling, tapping, and milling center from the FANUC RoboDrill alpha-D21MiB5 Plus series, the current-generation B5-Plus platform in the M-size 5-axis configuration. Targeting high-mix precision production of small complex components in automotive, medical, and electronics sectors, this machine combines the M-size 650 x 400 mm worktable with full 5-axis simultaneous interpolation under the FANUC Series 31i-B5 Plus CNC. The worktable supports workpieces up to 300 kg across axis travels of 500 mm X, 400 mm Y, and 330 mm Z. The BBT30 dual-contact spindle runs at 10,000 RPM standard, with a 24,000 RPM option; continuous power is approximately 5.4 HP standard or 7.4 HP at 24K, with peak output up to 19 HP at one minute. The 21-tool arm-type ATC achieves 0.9-second tool-to-tool change time, and rapid traverse reaches 33 m/min. The 31i-B5 Plus CNC supports AI contour control II, FANUC macro B, FANUC servo guide, and seamless robot cell integration. Machine weight is approximately 4,409 lbs base or 4,850 lbs with the optional DDR-TiB direct-drive rotary/tilt table. The B5-Plus generation delivers tighter thermal compensation, enhanced servo dynamics, and the FANUC i-HMI touchscreen for simplified operation compared to DiA-generation predecessors. The compact footprint of approximately 63 x 63 x 90 inches enables dense multi-machine cell arrangements.
