A+Technical Description
The 2020 FIDIA K414 is a 5-axis high-speed bridge machining center from FIDIA, the Italian specialist in high-speed contour milling and large-format 5-axis machining systems. The K414 is FIDIA's large-format offering in the K-series bridge machining center range, providing an expansive 5,000 x 1,500 mm fixed work bed and 168-inch X-axis travel for the machining of very large dies, molds, aerospace structural components, and heavy industrial parts. The bed supports workloads up to approximately 45,000 kg. Axis travels reach 4,267 mm X, 1,245 mm Y, and 1,397 mm Z. A bi-rotary A/C milling head provides full 5-axis simultaneous interpolation, with the A axis ranging +110 to -94 degrees and C axis traversing 400 degrees total arc, enabling complete multi-sided contouring and compound-angle drilling without workpiece repositioning. The HSK-63 spindle operates at up to 24,000 RPM with 55 kW, approximately 73 HP, for aggressive material removal in aluminum and high-speed die steel finishing. An 84-position ATC supports extensive tooling libraries for long unmanned machining cycles. The FIDIA C-20X CNC delivers advanced 5-axis simultaneous interpolation, FIDIA high-speed look-ahead algorithms, and through-spindle coolant at 1,000 PSI. Machine weight is approximately 70,547 lbs. The K414 is deployed in automotive stamping die shops, aerospace prime contractors, and heavy toolmaking operations worldwide.
