Technical Description

The 2020 Hurco BMC30 is a 3-axis vertical machining center built on a rigid cast-iron base, combining proven mechanical design with Hurco's current WinMax CNC control platform. The BMC30 features axis travels of 30 inches in X, 16 inches in Y, and 20 inches in Z, accommodating a wide range of workpiece sizes typical of mid-size production machining. The worktable measures 42 inches by 16 inches and provides ample T-slot fixturing area for multi-part setups or large single workpieces. The spindle is driven by a 20 HP motor and operates at speeds up to 8,000 RPM via a CAT40 taper, delivering the torque and speed range needed for both roughing and finishing operations in steel, cast iron, and aluminum. Rapid traverse rates on all axes support cycle time reduction in automated production environments. Standard equipment on the 2020 BMC30 includes Hurco's WinMax conversational CNC control, enabling both conversational and G-code programming at the machine without an external CAM system. WinMax features a large touchscreen interface, DXF file import, network connectivity, and built-in toolpath simulation, reducing setup time and supporting lights-out machining capability. The 2020 model benefits from current Hurco manufacturing quality standards and updated control software. The BMC30 comes equipped with a 20-tool automatic tool changer (ATC) for unattended operation across multiple operations.
