Technical Description

The 2018 Hurco VM10HS is a 3-axis vertical machining center from Hurco's VM10 series with a high-speed spindle configuration. The "HS" designation indicates a maximum spindle speed of 15,000 RPM, significantly higher than the 8,000 RPM of the standard VM10, enabling high-speed machining of aluminum, titanium, and other materials where elevated spindle speeds improve surface finish, extend tool life, and reduce cutting forces. Axis travels are identical to the standard VM10 at 20 inches in X, 16 inches in Y, and 20 inches in Z, with a worktable measuring 26 inches by 14 inches. The spindle is driven by a 15 HP motor and uses a CAT40 taper, maintaining the same tooling interface as the standard VM10 while delivering the higher speed capability suited to high-speed cutting strategies.
